Despite being given change of use on our new building (5 Ashville Way) in October the council have called the decision back to their planning meeting on 11th January 2017 due to complaints from a neighbouring company which wants to expand into our building.
As a club this will be a vital meeting as it will decide the future of the club and whether we can stay as an Oxford club.
We are asking members and those on the waiting list to support our case. You can do this in three ways;
1) Write an email or letter of support on the planning portal (deadline 8th December)
Ref No. 16/01726/FUL
Anyone who wishes to make representations about this application should write to the Council at Planning, City Development, 109-113 St Aldate’s, Oxford, OX1 1DS or email firstname.lastname@example.org or comment online at www.oxford.gov.uk/planning by the 8th December 2016
2) Write an email or letter to your local councillor asking them to support gymnastics in Oxford. If your councillor sits on the East Oxford Committee all the better. You can find out more about the make up of the committee here
3) Attend the planning committee at 6pm on Wednesday 11th January at the town hall.
Please do let councillors know how long you have been at the club, or how long you have waited for a place and why gymnastics is something important for your child/yourself.
It is so exciting being in the building and seeing the potential for our existing members and for those we hope to offer more places to from our waiting list. We really do ask the council to stick firm in the decision they gave us in October and support us to offer gymnastics to people in Oxford City.
