CGC is run as a charity (CIO) by the trustees. The day to day running of the club is led by an elected committee of coaches, parents and members.

Sarah Fry: Trustee and Club President

Sarah has been with the club for 40 years, initially as a gymnast and now as a coach and club President and Trustee.  She is a National Judge and is the Judging Convenor for the South Region and Oxfordshire and acts as secretary and treasurer for the Oxfordshire Gymnastics Association.

Lee Brock: Trustee and Treasurer

Lee has been involved with CGC for the past 13 years, firstly as a parent then 3 years ago as treasurer for the club. Lee has a background in accounting and maths and leads on all communication with the Charity Commission.

Juliet Field: Trustee and Welfare officer

Juliet has been involved at CGC for over 30 years first as parent then as a coach as well as helping with the administration of the waiting list and class membership. She is one of our welfare officers and uses her excellent knowledge of English to help us write our policies.

She has also been a trustee at both her local Community Centres, as well as at her local Church.

Hazel Walsh: Trustee and Chair

Hazel has been a member of CGC since she was 6 years old. She is now lead coach and Chair of the club. Hazel had a ten-year career as an osteopath and more recently has worked at Active Oxfordshire promoting sport and physical activity for all and working to increase the number and standard of coaches in Oxfordshire. Hazel is also a trustee of Blackbird Leys Amateur Boxing Club.

Josh Lenthall: Trustee

Josh joined as a Trustee of Cherwell Gym Club in July 2020. He is passionate about giving opportunities to young people to be physically active and looks forward to helping the club develop over the coming years. Josh is a senior manager at Active Oxfordshire, leading the Children and Young Person’s team.

Vanessa Matthews: Welfare officer

Vanessa has been helping out at CGC since her daughter joined 8 years ago. Vanessa works alongside Juliet on safeguarding and welfare at the club. In her day job Vanessa teaches Food and Nutrition in a secondary school.

Katharine Wilson: Secretary of the committee

Katharine is the mother of a squad gymnast and has been involved with the club for seven years.

Miranda Kourdi: Young person’s representative

Miranda has been involved with the club for 10 years as a member. She fell in love with the sport through joining the club with her sister and has been passionate about gymnastics since. She has been a coach for two years with the club and enjoys the experience of coaching the gymnasts.
